monotypes

monotypes  are one-of-a-kind original prints done by painting/creating an image on a flat surface, laying damp print paper over it, and sending it through a press or using a roller to impress the image onto the paper. The final work is a mirror of the painted surface. Some monotypes have two or more layers or "runs."
